Recession and Recovery: Taking Lessons Learned Back to the Classroom
October 22, 2010
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Cosponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

As the U. S. economy pulls itself out of the financial crisis, a multitude of questions abound.

  • Can we accurately identify the forces that led to this unprecedented global economic slump?
  • What is the outlook for the U.S. economy?
  • What role can monetary policy play in the recovery process?
  • Are there lessons we can learn from this recession?
  • Can the regional economy help in the recovery, and could we have avoided the financial meltdown with a more financially literate population?
  • As educators, how can we prepare our students for making sound personal finance decisions?

Recession and Recovery addressed these questions and encouraged dialogue among the participants.
