Policy Challenges in the New
Millennium
An economic forum for college
and university faculty
November 15, 2005
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
In the midst of sweeping world
change, the United States faces the daunting task of
examining domestic and international policy issues.
Given the backdrop of rapidly integrated economies and
changing demographics, coupled with fiscal, monetary
and social considerations, these matters lead to many
unanswered questions.
This conference, “Policy
Challenges in the New Millennium,” hosted by the
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will address concerns
that relate to the current international landscape,
exploring in particular eastern Asia and Latin America.
Domestic issues will focus on tax reform, monetary policy,
poverty, welfare and immigration.
Presentations are designed to
benefit faculty members in various academic areas, including
economics, finance, business, public policy, political
science and education.
