  • Economic Summit
    Dallas, Texas
    June 7 – 8, 2007
    Topics will address the history and evolution of money, key facets of the Federal Reserve System’s purpose and functions, inflation, interest rates, and how conducting monetary policy has changed through the years. Attendees will also learn about inflation targeting as well as globalization’s impact on monetary policy.
     
  • Global Economic Forum
    San Antonio, Texas
    June 28 – 29, 2007
    This two-day event will address the current status of globalization, its economic impact and important issues debated in today’s global economy. Breakout sessions on teaching international topics, such as exchange rates, and ideas for the classroom will be provided.
     
  • New Mexico Conference
    Albuquerque, N.M.
    July 20, 2007
    Cohosted with Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas city and New Mexico State University Center for Economics and Personal Finance Education
    This workshop will focus on the importance of making sound financial decisions. In connection, the role of the Fed as a monetary authority and the impact of the Fed's decisions on the U.S. economy and subsequently on the consumer will be discussed.
     
  • Personal Finance Workshops
    Dallas – June 21, 2007
    El Paso – July 13, 2007
    Houston – July 24, 2007
    San Antonio – August 1, 2007
    Cosponsored with Texas Council on Economic Education
    The workshops will address the areas of instruction dictated by the recent personal finance mandate passed by the Texas legislature. It will highlight the concepts related to banking, savings, credit, and the principles of investing, among others.
     
  • Louisiana Conference on Personal Finance
    Location: TBA
    August 3, 2007
    Cohosted with Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and Louisiana Council for Economic Education
    This workshop will address topics such as budgeting, saving, investment, debt management and insurance as well as personal financial lessons learned from natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina.
